The nclamp's ball-and-socket head, manufactured by RAM Mounting Systems, includes an anodized aluminum ball and a composite coupler. When you purchase an nclamp phone / mp3 mount, you can select a cradle from our menu of popular models — any one is included in the price! The RAM Mounts cradle on an nclamp is engineered to provide access to all iPhone jacks, ports, functions and controls — including volume buttons, camera, flash, ear/mike jack, docking port for USB, etc. The cradle is bolted to the base of a second ball, which itself sits within the coupler. The nclamp's coupler, in which the two balls are snugly socketed, has a large handle which can be loosened for positioning your phone or mp3 display, and tightened with a single hand. The entire assembly is tough as nails, yet provides a comfortable and secure fit to your valuable mobile device.
The nclamp's PONY spring clamp is constructed of a nickel-plated steel. Its jaws are capable of opening up to 2" (5.1 cm) wide and tightly clamping down to any surface. The PONY's trademark orange tips protect and grip the surfaces that it is clamped on to, and the orange handles make the clamp easier to squeeze open with a single hand. Competitive products offer off-market clamps made of imported steel — cheaply constructed imitations of the classic PONY clamp used in our nclamp products. With each nclamp product, we add a marine-grade nylon-coated bungee tether and a 2" plated-steel breech clip (shown here) giving you the option to secure your nclamp to any fixed eyelet in the event that the unit is bumped or jarred. This flexible tether is provided to minimize any risk of damage to your phone or mp3 player if the clamp is bumped off of the surface it is attached to.
